Within the framework of the SwafingCoaching project, which I realized in collaboration with Swafing, my commitment was entirely focused on the digital transformation of Swafing’s direct customers: fabric stores and online fabric retailers.
The goal was to help these specialized retailers sustainably optimize their digital presence. It wasn’t only about imparting technical know-how but also about guiding them emotionally and strategically on their journey into the digital future. The idea was to lay a foundation for long-term online success through individualized consulting and practical coaching sessions.

Analysis and strategy
A key component of the project was a comprehensive analysis of the existing digital structures. This involved an in-depth examination of the online shops, websites, and social media channels of the participating retailers. Special attention was paid to the quality and impact of their content – from texts and images to videos on platforms such as Instagram.
The analysis made it possible to identify individual strengths and weaknesses. Based on these insights, a tailored strategy was developed that considered both technical and creative aspects. This resulted in a detailed action plan that paved the way for an optimized online presence.

Coaching and implementation
The implementation of the developed strategies took place through intensive one-on-one coaching sessions, which were flexibly conducted via videoconference. In these sessions, the aim was to provide the owners and their teams with practical tools and methods that enable them to independently advance their digital appearances. In addition to teaching technical fundamentals, a special focus was placed on creative execution: How can content be designed to reflect the character and uniqueness of each fabric retailer? The coaching sessions were interactive and customized to the needs of the participants – from optimizing texts to planning social media campaigns. The goal was to equip the retailers with the necessary resources to confidently and successfully embark on their digital journey.
Results and feedback
The positive feedback from the participating retailers confirmed the success of the project. The implemented measures led to a noticeable increase in digital visibility – both in physical stores and online. The retailers reported improved customer engagement, a broader reach on social media, and a strengthened brand presence. In particular, they highlighted how valuable it was to receive concrete tools for continuous optimization and to discover the joy of using digital platforms. The feedback demonstrated that the individualized consulting and practical approach were crucial in overcoming technical hurdles and driving the digital transformation forward successfully.
Conclusion
The retrospective view of the SwafingCoaching project illustrates how targeted, individually tailored measures can sustainably support digital transformation in the fabric trade. I am immensely proud to have contributed to making it easier for these retailers to enter and evolve in the digital space. The insights gained and the positive outcomes motivate me to continue pursuing innovative and practical approaches, and to let my experiences enrich future projects.
